What are the health benefits of Reflexology? (Foot Massage)?

How often should one get a massage?

Public Comments

  1. I don't see any benefit at all, my hands hurt after a while when my wife makes me massage her feet.
  2. Reflexology is a bunch of crap. The only "benefits" reported are more than likely a combination of placebo (things work because the patient thinks they do) or relaxation/reduced stress from a nice massage. People usually get better on their own, without doing anything. However, whatever random treatment they attempted usually gets the credit. This is how anecdotal evidence becomes substantiated and folk remedies are perpetuated. JKDMed, MSI (Med Student)
  3. Relaxation! It feels good and that's enough benefit for me. As for how often one should get a massage, the answer is easy: as often as possible, daily at least. (OK, so I'm dreaming, but my family knows how into relaxation I am that I got a total of 6 hours of hot stone massage and reflexology.)
