in foot reflexology,is it normal to have the whole leg, lower abdomen and pubic area massaged?

- Reflexology is normally just the foot. Other forms of Chinese Medicine do involve energy meridians that run along the body. These do go along the legs, to the groin and up along the trunk. If you have a practitioner who has a wide training and is combining techniques to solve a problem for you, it's not unheard of for work to extend beyond the foot. You may even have areas of the high inner thigh worked or low on the abdomen around the hips. It is NOT professional or usual to have the pubic area itself massaged. Any problems related to groin muscles or energy meridians are treated by manipulating the surrounding areas, but the genitals themselves would be avoided. Always ask your practitioner about any techiniques you do not understand or wish to have omitted in the future.
- Foot reflexology is done on the foot only. Anyone who does anything else is not doing reflexology. There are other legitimate forms of therapy as well, but none of them involve touching the pubic area. If you went for foot reflexology and got all those areas touched, you can start talking to a lawyer. That is unless you enjoyed it and a partner or somebody very close was doing it in such a way that you would go back again. There is also hand reflexology which is done in the same way as foot reflexology. A map of the whole body is contained on the soles of the feet, so the reflexologist can massage the points on the feet and tell which parts of the body are out of ballance. The reflexologist can tell you what organs correspond to which parts of the feet.
- sounds like overkill to me but fun maybe
- I had a Japanese reflexologist who combined reflexology with lymphatic drainage. She would work the lymph massage up to the knee but i can imagine you could include the upper leg and pubic area. Normal is what te practitioner does to everyone to me. Beyond that every practitioner has their own way.
- Depends on how much you paid for!!!
- Nope, I do believe that you got fondled, unless you requested the procedure. In NC where I practice, we are not allowed to massage beyond the knee during a Reflexology session. If you booked a Full Body Massage, these areas would be addressed but not the Pubic area. That one is for Doctors and Nurses only.
- In foot Reflexology you only apply pressure not massage to the foot and ankle area but areas of the feet correspond to organs on the body, i think you're getting confused hon'..Google Reflexology and it'll explain in detail..
