controversial topics on reflexology?

reflexology is simply a massage therapy(Foot Hand Ear) i need a topic that saying like these kind of treatment such as reflexology, acupuncture, breathing technique therapy, Chinese herbal medicine....you know those asian therapies.....like these works better than medicines and surgeries etc. I cant like really word the whole topic out... my teacher was saying like alternate medicine and western medicine.......is there an official term for those asian therapies? I dont know? any one can help me with this topic? thx!
