Will electric Reflexology machine increase metabolic rate?

I have just injured my left hand while lifting heavy weights. I am using electric reflexology machine to aid recovery. Will using electric Reflexology machine increase my metabolic rate?

1. Honestly the only thing scientific about reflexology is its latin rooted name. It has the same positive effects that massages have had. When you are relaxed your brain chemistry changes, which tend to be beneficial. The results will never be significant enough for you to notice if so to be honest.
2. No - definitely not. All they do is stimulate the muscles themselves to contract, but not based on any of the body's energy systems that would be connected to metabolic function. Frankly, you could hook it to the leg of a dead frog, and that leg would be twitching like he was running a marathon - has nothing to do with muscular development or useful rehab. At most, it could be said to increase blood flow to the muscle, which might be marginally helpful. But I've seen no data to address that - just popped into my head.
