  1. You just say you're a reflexologist and that's it - you are one. Like most quack professions, there is no legal obligation to be trained (and how could you be trained in reflexology? it's nonsense!) EDIT qdb : you are totally incorrect. How can you know so little about your own industry? In the UK, there is no legal requirement for a reflexologist to be "trained" in any way or to hold any "qualifications". Registration with CNHC - the only "regulatory" body for this form of quackery - is entirely voluntary. Most organisations in this quack industry happily boast that anyone can set up as a reflexologist with no training (they think it's a positive!!). "In the UK, there are currently no laws or regulations, therefore anyone can set up a business and call themselves a “Reflexologist”" http://www.reflexology-uk.net/site/?page_id=41 etc.
  2. There's no governing body or regulation for reflexology. Reflexology actually doesn't do anything so it's really hard to regulate something that doesn't exist! There's bound to be a site somewhere on the net where you can print off a certificate to hang on your wall. Edit: X is correct. Anyone can be a reflexologist in the UK. No training, no experience, nada. The fact that it's not actually a study of anything except invented rubbish is probably why it's not regulated.
  3. oh my god. don't even read the answers from these two people. It takes about one year to train as a Reflexologist in the UK. You cannot establish yourself and practice if you do not have the diploma (not). Once you get your diploma you gotta take an insurance before you can treat someone (only in the case that you work in a shop). You can train in a Reflexology school. There are many of them. Talk to a reflexologist for their own preferences, they will know. My school is the Practioner's school of Reflexologist, based in Twickenham. I am a Reflexologist. Here is a good read : http://careersadvice.direct.gov.uk/helpwithyourcareer/jobprofiles/JobProfile?jobprofileid=267&jobprofilename=Reflexologist&code=-967030517 and another good read here too : https://www.alliance-leicestercommercialbank.co.uk/bizguides/full/reflexologist/parkes-training.asp Can we ban those people who are voluntarily misguiding other people please? Follow up : You guys are quack hunters ! but there are no quacks here. All right i got it wrong.. I did not know you could establish yourself without a diploma or an insurance for the same matter ! What a surprise. 'There are no laws as such (at present) that stop you practising without qualifications, but without the protection of insurance, you may be storing up trouble for yourself if there was ever a claim against you. ' Reflexology is a self-regulated profession. And many associations help you if you register with them. And to do so you need an insurance. Fact is if you're looking for employment in a Reflexology shop they won't take you without a diploma and insurance because all employers are obliged to require that. So that rules out most of the problem. True, you could establish yourself as a Reflexologist and try to gain clients. Of course this is not recommended as a)There's a lot to learn and b)You don't want to get yourself in trouble. You guys are attacking this profession because it's self regulated. Oh and also because as a general rule you think this profession is a quack. The question was about training and where. I have responded by being helpful and you guys have responded by attacking that profession, being unhelpful and not answering the question. In short - you have your own agenda. Sorry but it seems to me that you got the short end of the stick. Thank you for pointing me wrong, i've learnt something today. ----- 'We interrupt this film to apologise for this unwarranted attack by the supporting feature.
