- I didn't know there was such a thing or I wouldn't have wasted my time having it. It is a wonderful experience and really relaxing. I could have slept for a week after having it.
- It doesn't matter because it is all rubbish! Seriously, Reflexology is a pseudoscience based on two false assumptions. First, the homuncular theory that parts of the body represent a 'map' of the body whole. They don't, Full stop. (Why don't you get a headache when you stub your toe?) Second, that there are 'energy lines' - undetectable by any science - that the practitioner can control. There aren't. Full stop. Reflexology is essentially magic masquerading as medicine. It has not basis in reality, no mechanism by which it can work, no clinical evidence that it does work. Google 'Placebo'!
- I've taken reflexology classes and never have heard of this...hmmmm
- For a foot chart... http://www.circlesoflight.com/alternative/reflexology-chart.html It doesn't appear tomatter which foot is present etc. But... There is no consensus among reflexologists on how reflexology is supposed to work; a unifying theme is the idea that areas on the foot correspond to areas of the body, and that by manipulating these one can improve health through one's qi. Concerns have been raised by medical professionals that treating potentially serious illnesses with reflexology, which has no proven efficacy, could delay the seeking appropriate medical treatment. There is no conclusive clinical or scientific evidence that reflexology has specific effect, with some exceptions.
