Acupressure during pregnancy? I am due on Oct. 14, 2009 and am very uncomfortable. I was looking into doing acupressure, but have heard that it can be used to help induce labor. I am not ready to be in labor yet? I am wondering if it is safe to do before forty weeks or if it could cause preterm labor? Thank You.

Acupressure points during pregnancy? I am five weeks pregnant. Someone pressed once really hard on the acupressure point - the webbing between my thumb and index finger. That area is bruised now. Will this cause a miscarriage? Please help (I'm really worried - is there any way to counter what he did? If there are any acupressurists or acupuncturists out there who knows about this, please help. Thanks.

What do you think of maternity acupressure? I have recently found an e-book on using acupressure during your pregnancy and how it works. I have looked into all sorts of alternate methods in pregnancy and childbirth. This seems to be the best that I have found. Info on acupressure and pregnancy? Ok ladies, I'm a day over my duedate with #3. I've read online about acupressure to help bring on labor and help manage pain during labor. Is anyone familiar with this? I don't want to buy an ebook and I cannot seem to find any free info. Thanks!! I'm not trying to go into labor today...my doctor will be inducing Tuesday if it doesn't happen on it's own. He suggested walking, sex, and castor oil. I'm in no big hurry. I just don't want a medical induction. Nor do I want to drink castor oil lol!

Natural Ways To Induce Labor - Acupressure Guide That Works? I'm looking for a proven effective guide on the benefits of acupressure in pregnancy and safe ways to induce labor at home.

Is there an acupressure point that will induce labor, and if there is, where? Pregnancy is full term.?

Does anyone know of a link to get free images/maps of maternity acupressure points? I am heading into my last week of pregnancy and would like to see the exact points visually. Also, does anyone know how long to press the points? I know you press them for one minute and then rest for 3-4 minutes. How long do you continue that cycle? An hour? Three? Or until it brings the desired results? Thanks for your time!

My sister in law is trying to induce labor with acupressure, how long...? does she need to do it for in order for it to be effective. She is doing the webbing between her thumb and index finger and a place down on her ankle. We know you are supposed to rub for a few minutes or until you get a contraction but when do you repeat and how often and how long. Anyone with experience. She did do acupressure with the last pregnancy and went into labor that night. Thanks for your help.

Acupressure to induce labor... when will it work? How long should it take acupressure to work to induce pregnancy? I am almost 37 weeks, which is when I will start trying it since my husband, doctor, and self have medical reasons to have her out sooner rather than later. I KNOW, I know... "The baby won't come until she's ready... 37 weeks is too early..." I just need to know: 1: Can acupressure could help speed things up as early as 37 weeks? and 2: How long it could realistically take, if it works? The doctor wants to keep an eye on things and is thinking about inducing, but I would much rather be able to induce naturally, so I'm gathering facts now for in case it comes to it!

40wks pregnant and still nothing what can i do to start labor? I have tried castor oil many different times and nothing happened. I haven't got any contractions only braxton hicks one time. We have tried acupressure but i am not sure if we even did it right. I am desperate to induce my labor naturally. Any suggestions? Also this is my second pregnancy.

Has anyone ever tried acupuncture for morning sickness? I have had severe morning (all day) sickness every day for the last 6 weeks. I have trouble eating anything at all and get really bad 'dry heaves' in the morning. I have tried the ginger candies, saltines, eating before getting out of bed, acupressure bands and nothing has worked. Is acupuncture safe during pregnancy? Did it work for you? I am 10 weeks along.

40 weeks and increased movement? I was 40 weeks pregnant on the 19th. I have tried everything since to get this baby out, sex, long walks, nipple stimulation, and acupressure points. Yesterday the baby was moving like crazy!!! None stop movements, almost like he/she were changing positions. This carried on for the good part of an hour. Is it normal for this much movement a the end of pregnancy? I am just worried about fetal stress. I have felt the baby move this morning.

Sea Bands and morning sickness! I need help? UGH!!! I am only 7 wks pregnant now and going on 2 weeks of consistent morning (all day) sickness. I get absolutely NO time in which I am feeling a little better than nauseous. I just don't know how much longer I can take this. My other pregnancy was nothing compared to the sickness I am experiencing this kind. Has anyone every tried those Sea Bands? They are for people who get sea sick on boats and also used for morning sickness. It's a process of acupressure. I bought some yesterday and haven't notice anything! It's supposed to put pressure on the wrist tenden that sends the nausea signal to the brain. Some women claim they work. Has anyone else tried them? Or does anybody have any suggestions to help this morning sickness go away!! I begin school again in a week and I'm so nervous I'm going to be puking in class. I've tried chamomile tea (I hate tea) and it just made me sick. Any suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks

what can I do because i'm tired? hey this is my 4th baby but my 5th pregnancy my due date is on the 16 which is next tuesday my doctor said today i'm not dilated and my cervix is not soft enough and if he induced me i would end up having a c-section which I don't need now so he was telling me about doing acupressure points but he forgot to tell me where they were can some one help me please thanks

Getting Labour to Start? Hi, I am 37w 6d and am trying to find out about getting things started.Please don't say sex because it has been tried and both of us twice now have ended up in fits of laughter as its just to awkward. I tried nipple stimulation and got 2 (decent) contractions but cant manage to do it again. I was also wondering about acupressure, i am applying pressure to the point in my ankle and the webbing between my thumb and forefinger but NOTHING.. am I doing something wrong? I am just so ready to be done with this pregnancy. Please if you are going to write that baby will come when baby is ready please save it.. Im so ready to have my baby!!!? Ok, so I know that there is really nothing i can do to make this baby come any faster. Im getting so impatient. Who here is tired of being pregnant? I know i have to wait till lil she's ready to be born, but MAN O MAN i can't wait till she gets here. im over 41 weeks but not dilating? Eversince i was 36 weeks ive been only 1 cm dilated and 50 % effaced. For the past week my contractions were 5-10 mins apart that lasted for 6 hrs or more, some were worse and some werent but they just didnt get intensed where i have to go to hospital. Im contracting right now,too but it doesnt hurt.Ive been contracting since yesterday morning 5-15 mins apart 30-70 secs long but it just doesnt get intensed. I'm gonna see my dr tomorrow to book for induction. My last pregnancy I was only 1 cm for weeks and my contractions were so weak that I couldnt dilate more on my own without any help from drugs. So they induced me. Has anyone had this before? Does this mean I will not go to labor on my own without getting induced again? I would love to just say im on labor in the middle of the night lol Does this also mean that my body isnt releasing enough oxytocin for me to go to active labor? I tried sex, nipple stimulation, acupressure, pineapple, walking, orgasm but it didnt work. Im going to talk to my dr tom..

Whoa! What's going on?! =)? *whew* I'm all of the sudden having a BURST of energy!! It feels great, but random. All my pregnancy I've felt SO tired and mopey and exhausted, but today I'm very energetic, Don't wanna clean or anything like that lol, buuut.. i have been jumping up and down, and doing squats to try and lower the baby, and trying some maternity acupressure. 2 weeks ago I was 1cm and 50% effaced, haven't been checked since then, but I did have an ultra sound, a week ago the baby was practicing breathing, and measuring large, he was already 7lbs (I was 36 weeks). I went through nesting (last week), been having alot of period cramps and BH, ESP. after sex, moving alot, etc. Last week I had frequent BM towards the beginning of the week, then i had NONE, and then last night I had horrible *WARNING - TMI** diahrrea (sorry!!). Annnd last night I also was up ALL night, for no reason, just couldn't sleep. The doctor said they wont stop labor if it happens because the baby is so large, and he could come any day, and now I'm just over 37 weeks. I'm ready to get this show on the road!!! Did anyone else have these things happen just before labor?! Pardon my energy, I feel great, for ONCE in 9.5 months!

39 wks 3 days pregnant...plz help....??? Will bouncing on a yoga ball help induce labor? I already lost my mucus plug a week ago I walk every single day, I feel nauseous, fat and gross and itchy.... I can't sleep or nothing anymore, my back aches, I'm already 3cm dilated and my baby's head is literally a finger away, so she's very low and, I can feel the pressure of her head every time I stand up..... My doctor doesn't want to induce, since this is my first pregnancy!
