labor acupressure?? self inducing at home? false labor for several weeks. went to dr this morning with contractions. im scheduled for a cesarian on monday but cant take much more. they said this morning the contractions arent regular enough to be considered labor or progressive labor. anyone have any ideas on how to induce labor? or if this labor/maternity acupressure truly works? ill try anything. walking hasnt helped neither has red raspberry leaf

Acupressure Points for Inducing Labor....? Has anyone tried to induce labor with acupressure points? I did some research on it and it sounds interesting but I wonder if it's something I should try or not. I am only 3 days past due but have been having intense lower back pain all day. I'm getting short with anyone I talk to and feel miserable, but still no contractions! At the doctor last Friday I was 80% effaced but hadn't dilated at all. Just unsure of how to deal with the pain and the waiting in the meantime.

My sister in law is trying to induce labor with acupressure, how long...? does she need to do it for in order for it to be effective. She is doing the webbing between her thumb and index finger and a place down on her ankle. We know you are supposed to rub for a few minutes or until you get a contraction but when do you repeat and how often and how long. Anyone with experience. She did do acupressure with the last pregnancy and went into labor that night. Thanks for your help.

I guess there are some points in your body if you rub them you will go in to labor? im not so sure about it but i heard it works. They say not to do this until your passed your due date i don't think there is any harm if you do it before. But i was wondering if you think it is harmful. Im not really trying to go in to labor im just trying to dilate and thin my cervix out. Self inducing labor?? Okay , i am now past my due date, i have tried walking, sex, spicy foods, pineapples...acupressure, labor balls...you name it, i've done it, as long as there were no other risks involved with them...is there anything you guys can think of, even if it isn't medically proven, im open to suggestions, i have recently started swelling and have terrible back pain, i really dont want to get induced for my first baby :( i will try anyhthing!!! help!!!

Any women tried to induce labor with primrose, raspberry or acupressure before? Have any of you ever tried to use evening primrose oil, red raspberry leaf or acupressure to induce labor before? What was the outcome? I'm not trying to induce labor, I'm just trying to figure out if these things really have any effect. I've heard mixed responses on it all and wanted to get your opinions.. I did start taking primrose oil (after asking my doctor of course) and after taking it for a week, I dilated another 1 and a half centimeters, so I feel that it really may have worked. It makes me curious to see if anything's worked for you ladies... Thanks!

Acupressure to help induce labor? I'm now 39 wks and was told by my MW yesterday after my vaginal exam that it seems like I could go over due for at least a week b/c tere isn'r much going on down there. I'm in no rush to have this baby but I would'nt want to be too overdue either. I have a lady coming to my home to give me a session of acupressure and see if tat at least helps a little with helping baby come down. Has anyone had this done? Did it help at all?. What is a Guaranteed way to induce labor at home? I've tried everything!!!!? My baby is sitting right on my Sciatic nerve and next to labor it's one of the most painful things I've ever felt, so I just want this baby out, she's a pretty good size according to my Dr. I need pointers on what to do as far as getting labor started. Ways to induce labour? so far, i've tried acupressure & orgasms. all i've gotten from that are cramping and a headache. =( i'm going to try nipple stimulation later with a hot cloth, i hope that works.. what other ways can i try? i won't take castor oil & i'm going to try the raspberry leaf tea tomorrow. any other suggestions? i'm not asking for people to critisize me on MY decision to try and induce labour. my stomach is measuring 4 weeks ahead and my doctor says he's already about 8 pounds. i don't want a c-section, and if he stays in there any longer, i'll probably need one. Can castor oil have negative affects on the baby? I am now 4 days overdue with my first baby and while i am perfectly fine with my baby taking his sweet time to arrive, my doctor isn't so patient and is planning to induce me on Monday. I'm not thrilled about medically inducing due to the fact that i cannot talk my doctor out of using pitocin haha. I also want a labor as free of medical intervention as possible and induction would sort of defeat the purpose. I have been walking 2 miles everyday for the past month, ive tried walking up and down stairs, bouncing on a birthing ball, doing squats, yoga, sex, spicy food, nipple stimulation, raspberry tea, acupressure, massage, and i have even "galloped" around my neighborhood. I have been trying to avoid the use of castor oil because i know that if it doesnt get my baby out, it will get everything else out and that could turn out to be a very unpleasant experience. Monday is only a few days away now, though, and i am desperate to naturally induce my labor so that i don't have to have my water broken and be jacked up with pitocin. I completely trust my doctor and if she feels it is necessary then i am okay with it, but i really would like my baby to come out on his own. I am now seriously considering the castor oil since it is the one thing i have heard actually works from many women. I am ok with the side effects i will have to suffer through, but i want to make sure this isn't going to harm my baby in any way. Can anyone offer any advice?

37 1/2 Weeks Pregnant, need advice about proven & safe self-induction...? I'm 37 1/2 wks preg. now & baby is est to be over 8lbs. I'm not dialated or effaced at all. I always wanted an all-natural birth with no medication at all & my Dr. said if I don't go into labor on my own by next Monday, baby will be too big for me to safely deliver vaginally & we'll have to schedule a C-Sec. I am really upset about the thought of a C-Sec. I want what's best for my baby & I will do it in a heartbeat if I need to, I'll never compromise his health, safety or well-being. But I still want to try for vaginal delivery- I've read all sorts of "home-remedy / wives tales" on how to supposedly "safely" induce or bring on labor. Like: walking, sex, breast stimulation, castor oil, raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose, ride on a bumpy road, spicy-hot foods, hot bath, acupressure points, etc... Anyway, if you did any of these or something else altogether to induce YOUR labor and it WORKED, please share your story with me.

What can I do to go into labor? So doctor says if I don't have the baby / go into labor by today they are going to induce me... I see the doctor tomorrow to schedule getting induced. I'd rather not be induced because the contractions caused by induction are far more painful then regular contractions and I want as natural of a birth as possible. And one intervention tends to lead to another. I've tried Everything! Eating spicy food... It did nothing! I didn't even get indigestion from it (but my husband did lol! and he loves spicy food) and I always get indigestion from spicy food! I tried eating mangoes, having intercourse with my husband, bouncing on a birthing ball, walking up and down steps, nipple stimulation, drinking red raspberry leaf tea, taking evening primrose oil supplements, and acupressure. Acupressure did the most for me really. I started getting cramps and tightness in my abdominal area and lots of Braxton Hicks contractions but I really needed to take a shower so I took a shower and everything stopped. I've been trying since then (that was Friday) and it wont start again. But yesterday when I went to church it started a little bit then stopped and today I have lots of pelvic pressure which is quite uncomfortable really. My question is, is there something that I could be doing that I'm not doing? I will not take Castor oil because it can cause the baby to go into fetal distress and I really don't want to risk that. I plan on doing some more acupressure tonight to see if it helps. But if there is anything else I can be doing let me know.

I'm 40 weeks and 2 days pregnant (2 days overdue)....what are the chances i'll go into labor on my own? My doctor told me two days before my due date that i was 2 cm going on 3cm dilated & 50% effaced. i've been having severe back-pains and cramping to the point where it makes it very difficult for me to walk, sit or even lay down. The day of my due date i had really bad shooting pains on my back, unfortunately it was false labor and the nurse there told me i was 1 cm dilated, I'm just confused as to why my doctor told me i was making great progress since my previous weekly visit. The nurse then told me it would look like a week or so for me to go into labor naturally, otherwise my doctor would have to induce me (which i don't want because i heard it could be harmful for the baby and more painful). I've been doing the impossible to induce at home such as: -eggplant parmesan lasagna with oregano and basil -sex. sex. sex. -walking, stairs and a few bumpy rides -Cinnamon tea -acupressure -nipple stimulation, with my breast pump -and plenty of relaxing hot baths. I don't know wether or not i'm helping or making it worse! I really need something that will make me go into labor naturally, i'm very stressed and can't wait for my son to come home. keep in mind that i have been contracting for the past 5 days....

I officially need help...how can i help this pregnancy progress? Im have a big problem and im stressed and i have never felt so pressured in my life. Please i need advice. If you are all about c sections and going the easy route then this question is NOT for you. I have always been a firm believer in the natural. Natural birth, home birth, no meds, no epidural, and herbs. If you are not in the same frame of mind then please do not answer because i need advice not critisism. On my first pregnancy 5 years ago...i DID have to have a c section. It stunk. I was very sick. I had preclampsia and hypertension and had advanced to seizures. I had to have an emergency c section at 31 weeks. I do not agree with using the c section as an easy way out but i DO believe it is needed in certain situations and can save lives. Well...this is my second pregnancy and of course i want a VBAC if at all possible. I have had a PERFECT pregnancy with NO complications what so ever! I have been blessed. Not even any swelling! So of course when my hospital offered a midwife as opposed to a doctor, i took it! But...as i have gotten closer to my due date...which is august 20th, my midwife is saing because im having a VBAC, there are risks of uterine rupture involved the closer i get to my due date. My midwife has givin me NUMEROUS things to try to naturally induce my own labor. And nothing has worked. Since im a vbac they cannot use pitossin. Im on my own. Im now 38 weeks. Im being so pressured. Im being told that if i do not go into labor this week then at my 39 week app i will be scheduled a c section. i do not want one. i want a natural labor! So bad...i have never wanted anything so bad in my entire life. Im stressing out. Does anyone have any suggestions??? All under supervision from the midwife...and im not even dilated!!! Im at the end of my rope. My midwife said she is sorry but her hands are tied because she works for the hospital who of course has protocol to cover their own butts! So I would like to know if this worked for anyone before investing my money. P.S. I know your not supposed to try to induce your labor early. Acupressure points to induce labor work for you? Im 40 weeks 2 days. Going to be induced saturday. Dont want to be... =/ I wana go into labor naturally if I can. Ive been loosing mucous plug for 4 days... been crampy... babys head pushing on my cervix is causing bad pain now...starting to hurt/sting/jolt so bad I have to say ouch...and breathe for a minute. lol. So im waiting to go into labor any day now... But just incase I dont before saturday I wanted to try natural ways. Ive already had a membrane sweep. 2 days ago. Made me think i was in labor yesterday cuz all the symptoms i was having ...just no water break/regular contractions. Only had more mucus/discharge, and vaginal pain today. Sex hasnt worked...nor walking... Im not eating anything gross. I know none of it may work anyways but still... I wanted to try. So I wanted to try acupressure...But first I wanted to know about your experience. I know where the main 4 are and have found the spots I need to rub/massage. The webbing between thumb and index finger. The 4 fingerwidths above your inner ankle on the calf. Between the achilles tendon and outside ankle. And the 3 fingerwidths from lower spine on each side. Ive found the spots because i felt the soreness and stuff... I just didnt do it just yet. Have you ever done the acupressure points to naturally induce labor? Did it work? Acupressure points to induce labor? So, I had false labor yesterday and now Im even more anxious to get this baby out! Im 40 weeks + 1 day. When I went to the hospital and was hooked up to the monitor I was having contractions they just werent strong enough to help me progress. Ive heard that the "hoku" point on your webbing between your thumb and forefinger is a good point to do it on, but I don't really know how to do it. How Long do you have to use Accupressure to induce labor? So I did acupressure yesterday to induce labor. It said that it could take 48 hours to work. But I'm not sure how long you're suppose to do accupressure. So I dont know if i did it long enough or not. Anybody used it before???

Okay..so after going into labor to having it stop on me.. ive been trying to figure out ways to get things up and going again. theres many old wives tails.. in desperation ive bought black cohosh and evening primose oil and ive been searching everywhere for raspberry leaf but had no luck in finding it.Now that i have the Black Cohosh and evening primose oil.. im kind of scared to take it so i put it on hold any information about that would be greatly appreciated. Secondly id love to try the nipple stimulation or the acupressure..so if youve tried it and successfully went into labor..can you tell me how to do it.. the process i mean.
