Acupuncture treatment? I have pins and needles in my earlobes and the backs of my hands, does anybody know if acupuncture might be of any use?
what is the right feeling after acupuncture treatment? I went under acupuncture treatment for about 3 months for enlarged ovaries. Lately the treatment became really bloody, the needles cause big bumps and bruises on the legs around knee area. I feel some discomfort when I walk after the treatment. When I asked my physician, she told me that bleeding is good for my recovery. Is this right? I thought acupuncture should increase blood circulation, with a needle in the middle of the vein, it could cause blood clot in the vein. I know nothing about traditional Chinese medicine nor western medicine. Could someone help me?
Do you have any experience with acupuncture treatment? I am thinking about acupuncture to help with my seasonal depression. If you have experience with acupuncture treatment I would like to know about it. What did you have treated and did it work well? What was the overall experience like? Is there any pain? Would you recommend acupuncture?
Should I leave a tip for an acupuncture treatment? The treatment was performed in a salon/spa by a licensed acupuncture therapist. It is more of a medical treatment than a spa service such as a facial or massage. I do not know if the therapist rents the space or is on a commission pay scale. She books her own appointments on her personal line, and collects payments herself. Any help would be appreciated.
US citizens: What are you willing to pay for acupuncture treatment? I would like to know what US citizens are willing to pay for acupuncture treatment. There is no need to answer if you aren't willing to get acupuncture treatment; I'm quite capable of calculating what you would pay... 8~) I'm not asking what acupuncturists *are* charging. I'm asking what you would feel comfortable paying. Dave, maybe we should apply that your concept to all health care, and any other service oriented business...
Will my acupuncture treatment work? I've been going to chinese Dr. for acupuncture for my plantar facsiitis (heel pain). Had 10 treatments. No results. should I continue to go? He says few more times.
Anyone in Northern Virginia have acupuncture treatment? Recommendations? I live in northern Virginia and I'm thinking about getting acupuncture treatments for depression and allergies. Can anyone in the northern Virginia area recommend a good practitioner to me? I've searched online, but I can't find many reviews for acupuncture places around here. Also, what can I expect to pay per session for the treatments?
Who would you rather get an acupuncture treatment from? a. An licensed acupuncturist with 4 years of schooling and two years of internship. (This is required in order to get a license) b. An M.D. with 250 hours (100 through video tapes and the remainder to lectures and practice sessions - this is required in order for an M.D. to practice acupuncture). (Please explain your opinion! Thanks!)
Is Acupuncture an Effective Treatment for Severe Graves Ophthalmopathy? Hi, my sister has Severe Graves Ophthalmopathy, with double vision and other uncomfortable symptoms for months. It looks like it's only getting worse. The treatments aren't working, and the next step is a huge blast of cortisone, which is a big concern. I'm wondering if acupuncture would be an effective alternative. If you know, please share your experience. Thank you.
Why did I faint during my first acupuncture treatment? I am only 13, and have never had any phobia of needles... I went in because of my tennis elbow problem, and my tennis academy recommended this acupuncturist... We were all skeptical but decided to give it a try... I went in, and he put in about 2 needles and I said I'm fine... After about four needles I felt the elctricity and then I said im really dizzy... All of a sudden it blacked out... I woke up with my mom screaming and I thought it was a dream... The acupuncturist said I had a "Chi Reaction" or something and my face turned white and my eyes rolled into the back of my head... I collapsed and fell on the floor... After ten seconds I woke up... What an experience!!!! Never going back- always thought acupuncture was a bunch of gibberish--
Is acupuncture a viable treatment for acne? I have tried numerous over-the-counter products, prescription medicine, and facial treatments... none of which have actually yielded significant results. A friend suggested acupuncture as a solution. Can anyone testify to this?
Acupuncture as a treatment for social anxiety? I have Asperger's syndrome, and social anxiety as a result. I don't want to take meds and there isn't any cognitive behavioral therapy remotely nearby, so I'm looking into acupuncture. Anyone who's tried acupuncture for anxiety, what's it like? How effective was it? Do you have to get it regularly for it to work?

what do you think of acupuncture treatment? in taiwan i did acupuncture treatment and took herbal medicine for my insomnia. it helped me calm down. it didnt necessarily help me sleep any better, now im back in america and taking a higher dosage of herbal medicine for sleep, the thing about this type of treatment is that its safe, but slow. its not dangerous and quick like taking drugs for sleep. the doctor told me that treatment has to be consistent and that it may take 2-3 months or half a year to show recovery signs and its true, herbs take longer to treat illnesses and conditions. what do you think? have u done acupuncture and found it beneficial for your health? the doctor would insert 10-15 needles each time for helping me with my sleep and there was also a massage therapist. usually you lay there with the needles inside you for 20 minutes but since i have severe insomnia, sometimes i laid there for 30minutes or 35minutes p.s. i also heard a lady tell me that she also did acupuncture and took herbal medicine to treat her arthritis and it took her a year and a half of consistent treatment for her to get well.

Has anyone had acupuncture for lower spinal pain or spine problems in general? I have a pinching pain along the lower spine and my sacroiliac joint (I won't go into the specifics of why I have this problem). It is something I have been living with for over two years now. I go to the chiropractor regularly which has led to some improvement and temporary relief. I was wondering if anyone has had acupuncture to treat spinal pain. Any comments regarding acupuncture treatment for back pain in general are welcome too. Preferably, I would like feedback from people who have actually had treatment before.
Have you ever experienced a "blue light" during the start of an acupuncture treatment? What causes it? I have recently had an acupuncture treatment after having my first set about 18 months ago. When the acupuncturist turned off the light and my eyes were closed, I noticed a blue light around the edges of the black darkness from having my eyes shut. I thought it was all in my head, but I forgot about it and when I went into this treatment, the same thing happened. Is this some kind of energy flow? The closest answer I found was people discussing blue light during meditation.... I appreciate any personal insights as well as the "technical" reasons behind this phenomenon. Thanks.
Anyone use acupuncture treatments to help with your injuries? Just curious to see how many of you out there have tried it. It totally helped me to get the swelling down when I cracked my knee cap (the orthopaedic doctor said it would stay swollen for a long time). And it helped me with my torn quad muscle (which never seemed to heal until I had acupuncture treatments). The treatments were quite relaxing with zero pain. Any good or bad experiences/views about acupuncture? Dizwizz - Woh! Gosh, a qualified acupuncturist should never forget needles these days . . . oy!!! icesk8er - Wow, a flare up from acupuncture?! I am interested in reading more about the condition you have . . . thanks for the link! bumble bee:) - Yep, injuries sure can happen - but that's with anything. We learn to overcome and work around them (skaters are strong - hee hee!). I cracked my knee cap stupidly from doing a back spiral to a forward spiral on one leg . . . I was going slow and when I turned, I literally tripped on my toe pick and went straight down onto my knee. I was out for a little over 3 months!
Does acupuncture help a woman increase fertility? I am 42 and have recently been diagnosed with premature ovarian failure with FSH of 48.5. My doctor told me that I would NEVER be able to conceive a baby with my own eggs, and that I should try IVF with donor eggs, which is not what I want to go through. Do you know somebody who could increase fertility and get pregnant with acupuncture treatment? I would appreciate to hear your answer.

How does acupuncture work as an analgesic I understand the whole energy thing about acupuncture and to me, it's a lot like Reiki, and I'm not so sure I believe in stabilizing the body's energy flow. However, I recently went for an acupuncture treatment to write a paper on alternative therapies, and I actually got muscular pain relief from the needling. I didn't tell the practitioner that I had pain in both calves, just the left one. She treated just the left calf along with the energy alignment stuff. The right calf was still sore after treatment, but the left calf was pain free. Later that night, the tops of my feet were numb. How does needling promote analgesia?
How many treatments of acupuncture do you need for menstrual cramps? ? I get horrible cramps and I have tried everything. They get so bad that I cant even stand up when they are really bad. I only have the cramps for a few days so would if I would need more then one treatment, would I have to go everyday? How soon do you feel better?
Has anyone been constantly cold after acupuncture? I have had three acupuncture treatments at a very well-known, reputable hospital (I have to travel forever to get there) for neck/shoulder/back complications. After the first two I felt exactly the same, but since the third I have been almost constantly cold, even when it's quite warm in the room. Has anyone else experienced this after acupuncture? Or is it probably just something else? Thanks!
Has anybody tried acupuncture to treat feline constipation? My cat suffers from megacolon and the vet has prescribed many different treatment options. I've tried everything - some stuff works and others don't. Although laxatives work, I want to stop using harsh drugs like that. Has anyone tried acupuncture or eastern medicine? I want to try a new alternative vet but the first visit costs $250. It's very expensive and I don't want to waste my money if it's a sham. If it does work, how often will the cat need further acupuncture treatments?
