Does Acupuncture for Weight Loss really work? I have heard that Acupuncture can be an effective way of losing weight (or at least speeding up the process) but I don't actually know anyone who has tried it? Anyone who has had experience with acupuncture and found it helpful? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Experiences with acupuncture for weight loss or depression? I suffer from depression (being treated with medication, it's improving, but still an issue). I'm also slightly overweight (workout a lot, but I indulge too much). Has anyone experiened acupuncture for their ailments (beyond pain) with success? Please explain? Thank you. I'm not looking for a panacea, but added help.
I am considering acupuncture to help with weight loss.? Does anyone out there know anything about it or has tried it? "Ear Stapling" seems to be related. This article explains acupuncture and weight loss: http://ezinearticles.com/?Acupuncture-and-Weight-Loss&id=1083001 but does anyone have personal experience? Thanks!
Acupuncture for weight loss? I started going to a doctor for acupuncture for lower back pain and she is telling me that it will also work for long time weight loss. Does anyone have any personal experience on this working or not working for the weight loss?
Where are the acupuncture points in my ear for weight loss? I went to an acupuncturist a while back for weight loss and they placed a 'ceed' in my ear. As it is expensive I can't go back which is a shame as it really worked for me. The acupuncturist gave me some extra ceeds but I can't remember exactly what point in my ear they go. Can anyone tell me? Please no negative comments and don't tell me to eat less and exercise more, I know this but the ceed really helps me to stick to this
acupuncture for weight loss? Has anyone used acupunture utilizing ear points with an ear-dart that stays in for several days and treatments using body points with acupuncture??
Anyone try acupuncture for weight loss? I was thinking about trying acupuncture to boost my metabolism.? I have had two babies in two years and I think I need to boost my metabolism. I am 37 and I think my Metabolism fell asleep. For the past 6 weeks I worked out on the bike for 90 minutes every day and instead of losing I gained 5 lbs. I couldn't believe it. I however, was also on a Birth Control Pill called Seasonique. I have been off it for a week and I no longer have an insatiable appetite. Please share any advice. Wow... Dave I appreciate your honest & direct response. You have made some valid points, however.... I am not lazy. Not everyone looking for advice on weight loss is lazy. I am the first one up in my family and the last to go to sleep at night. I work full time, and do most everything that caring for a family requires. In between my very busy days, I make time to excercise on my stationary cycle. In my last two pregnancies I only gained 10 lbs each and lost it after each birth. I am battling to lose old wieght from my previous pregnancies. I weigh 150 lbs when I should weigh around 120. I know acupuncture won't solely help me lose weight as I have to incorporate sensible eating and excercise. I just want to know if Acupuncture will give my metabolism a boost.
Does Acupuncture work against Depression, Anxiety and Weight loss? A few people told me that it actually works. today I went to some herbal place and some chinese dr...acupuncture specialist I think theyre called...told me that over a series of 10 sessions acupuncture will help me. I am 17 female. I have anxiety and depression and am slightly overweight. I hope this helps. I have been drinking Valerian tea and want to start drinking St. johns wort? does it help??

Has anyone tried an ear staple for weight loss? Several of my coworkers have tried this form of acupuncture and one of them is already seeing results. I've read some FAQs on the issue, but was wondering if anyone would share personal experience regarding ear stapling.
Weight Loss Question? Has anyone tried Acupuncture as a method for weight loss? if so what was your experience like.
What is acupuncture? Does it help in inch-loss? I have been following a healthy diet and jogging for 45 mintues per day, 5 days a week. I am losing weight on the weighing scale but there is no visible inch-loss. A friend recommended going in for acupuncture using needles. Is it a safe method? Does it really work? Please help. My friend's dietician uses Chinese needles for acupuncture. She has claimed to have lost 7 kgs in the same manner. Is it really possible?

I was told that you if you eat an apple every time your hungry you can lose 15 pounds in 3 days, I was told that you can lose 50 pounds from weight loss acupuncture... and taht you can lose 30 pounds from eating nothing but meat for 2 weeks... what's your professional opinion?
Ear stapling and weight loss - has anyone tried it? http://health.howstuffworks.com/ear-staple.htm I'd get my ear pierced there just because it looks pretty cool, but I was wondering if anybody has actually lost weight as a result (be it the "magic" of acupuncture or placebo effect). Also, can't you risk shattering your cartilage by using a gun? Shouldn't you use a needle instead?
weight loss regimen for female, bmi 40.1? I am an 18 year old female with a bmi of 40.1 (5'6, 250lbs). I am happy with the way my body looks, however, today I learned that I am developing arthritis in my knees due to my weight and that really effing scares me. I am looking to lose around 80-90 lbs, still "overweight", but out of the danger zone. I am open to all reasonably affordable suggestions, but I am not looking to be b**ched out about my weight. most of the excess weight is in my stomach, but also in my thighs and a bit in my butt. I would like to do my best to keep the fat in my backside and breasts, but I understand this is probably somewhat unavoidable. thank you ahead of time! also, at the moment, I cannot put tons of money into this. a gym or group membership, a book, a dvd, vitamins, acupuncture, etc are within reason, but options like surgery and pills like alli and others are a bit out of my range.
Seeking Tips for Weight Loss Maintenance...? I've been on a diet or as I would like to call a lifestyle transformation plan for the past four and a half months. My initial weight was 183.5 pounds ( I'm 5'4) on October 11th, 2008 and I am now down to 141.5 pounds. My goal weight is 135 pounds. I started out with 37.5% body fat and I'm now down to 23.5% body fat. Also, I was a size 44 in pants and now I am a size 38. I already donated all of my jeans and skirts so I would never have anything to go back to :) I am on a strict diet regiment ( I've been keeping a food journal for the past four and half months, never consuming more than 1,220 calories a day). Additionally, I have a personal trainer with whom I do strength training twice a week and engage in 1 hour cardio workouts 5-6 times a week. Lastly, I used acupuncture to control my appetite. I plan a weekly menu to witch I stick to, and while I eat dark chocolate 3-4 times a week, I mostly consume whole grains, fresh vegetables and a lot of lean protein. I eat 5-6 small meals a day, with breakfast and lunch being the largest meals ( though never going over 370 calories). I am also taking vitamins, and get preform monthly blood work in order to ensure that my body is not missing any essential vitamins. I have almost reached my weight goal and I would like to get some useful tips on how to add calories to my daily menu without gaining weight. I am under strict supervision of a licensed dietitian that has approved my weekly menus, but I am still afraid to go over my daily 1,200 calorie intake. Here is a sample of my daily menu: Breakfast: A cup of Fiber 1: 140 calories Coffee with 1/3 of skim milk: 45 calories Nonfat yogurt: 54 calories Tot: 239 calories Snack: A large red apple: 120 calories Coffee with 1% milk: 51 calories Nonfat Activia yogurt: 51 calories Tot: 222 calories Snack: Two cucumbers: 24 calories A piece of light bread: 34 calories Tot: 58 calories Lunch: Tomato+cucumber+ whole red pepper+ green beans+ 2 tsps of black pepper+ 2 tbs of salsa+ 1/2 cup of sliced carrots= 176 calories 11 pieces of light pastrami ( small slices)= 98 calories Light instant soup= 60 calories A piece of light bread= 34 calories Tot: 368 calories Snack: Granola bar= 92 calories Chai with 1/3 of a cup of skim milk= 40 calories Tot: 132 calories Dinner: Two pieces of light bread= 68 calories Two table spoons of nonfat cottage cheese= 24 calories Cucumber: 12 calories Tsp of pepper: 5 calories Sugar-free apple sauce: 60 calories Pecan: 13 calories Tot: 182 calories Tot calories for the day: 1,200 - I must add that I feel full and energized, but the only downfall is that my period is late and I have contacted a healthcare professional about this and she preformed all the neccesry tests on me, and though my test results were fine, my period is already almost a week late and that is causing me to be a little bit concerned. Thank you for your support!

Is there another place? I did acupuncture (weight loss) over the summer and it really worked well. I was wondering if there another place that does that (maybe a different name), because I moved to a different town. Huntsville, Texas... The closes place is miles and miles away...
Pain killers - weight gain? I have been trying to lose weight for 10 months now through healthy eating and have lost 50lb. However I have severe shoulder pain and have to take strong painkillers to get any relief at all. The trouble is they inhibit weight loss and maybe even contribute to weight gain. Can anyone recommend any steps I can take to combat this, any pain killers and anti-inflamatories which don't hinder weight loss or any herbal remedies which are very good for joint pain? I have tried acupuncture, physiotherapy, tense machine, reflexology, hydrotherapy and massage to no avail and excercise just makes me worse. Any suggestions welcome! Thanks Trust me I have tried swimming, heat/cool packs and all sorts of rubs along with massage and I also hate taking painkillers - i'm at my wits end.
Does acupuncture help PCOS symptoms? Has anyone tried treating PCOS with acupuncture, specifically for regulating periods and weight-loss? I am unable to take the pill anymore for medical reasons (was working very well for these symptoms too), and the cocktail of drugs the gynaecologist prescribed had bad side effects. So, I thought about maybe trying acupuncture but don't want to waste time and money if its pretty much useless. I've had acupuncture in the past for RSI and it made absolutely no difference whatsosver, so I'm sceptical but getting a bit desperate for help now.
Will acupuncture make a big difference? I've been researching acupuncture and hoping it will help me; I was wondering if anyone has firsthand experience. These are the things I am looking to remedy (a lot of them kinda go hand in hand): -mild depression/anxiety (mostly related to PMDD) -trouble losing weight (mostly due to thyroid) -chronic allergies (clogged nose and ears, ear problems include recurring middle ear infections with dizziness) -TMJ, which is related to chronic headaches and body tension. The third one is kind of just a bonus, but its important to me to fix the TMJ, and the weight loss and mental health. Also, can it improve your skin? Am I going to need a lot of sessions to fix these things, and will it even help? Can I talk to my acupuncturist about all these things at once? Anyone had success with any of these particular ailments and acupuncture? I'd love any input at all, thanks. I do not have health insurance at the moment and have found some amazingly good-priced acupuncture; in case that info makes a difference in your advice.
What would be a good name for a Chinese doctor & herbs practice/shop? Please help! A friend of mine is a qualified medical doctor from China, who is an expert in Chinese medicines and cures (acupuncture, massages etc...) as well as western medical practices. She would like to set up her own practice specialising in natural Chinese herbs, medicines and acupunctures. She is especially keen to help people loss weight and find cures for allergies. The name could reflect her services/expertise or anything meaningful to her practise. Please explain reason for the name you suggest. Many thanks for your help.
Is OPRAH Like GOD for Her Devoted Viewers? Oprah gives away free cars to her audience, they all love her. She gives away free chicken and what do some of us do? Run out and buy the damn grilled chicken like we neva had Chicken before. Did ya'll see them KFC lines spanning across the pacific ocean? And then people wanna get mad when KFC run out of chicken! I digress. People buying the chicken and don't even know that KFC's grilled chicken (it's grilled so, it gotta be right, right?) contains trans fats that cause heart disease. Dr. Oz (frequently featured on her show and a man who Oprah strongly supports) tells people to use acupuncture for weight loss, and what do some of them fools do?! They get acupuncture knowing damn well Oprah is 200 n some pounds. I ain't tryna diss Oprah, but DAMN! Are her viewers incapable of thinking for themselves? Angel boo boo, can you not read? My question is: Are her viewers incapable of thinking for themselves? Oh nah girl. Don't be hatin on my girl Tyra. She be rockin them lace front wigs! Yeah you right!
Acupuncture and weight loss? Can acupuncture help you loose weight? I eat very well (lots of veggies, some meat, hardly no carbs and fat) and I walk home from work (45 to 60 minutes) - I don't like to excercice other than that. I can't loose weight! I am thinking maybe my metabolism doesn't work fast enough. Would acupuncture help? I'm 5'5'', 167 lbs and healthy. My ideal weight would be 135 lbs. The only snacks I eat are veggies and hummus dip or non-fat/no-sugar yogurt mixed with cereal (and a 100 calories thinsation snack before going to bed). No soda, no beer, no sweets.
