I have glue ear, I read that reflexology helps. How can I do this on myself? I found foot & hand charts online Look, this is posted in ALTERNATIVE HEALTH which means the answer I am looking for is not "GO SEE A DOCTOR" Look, I'm 19. I've had ear infections my WHOLE LIFE the doctor has never changed that. If someone knows I am desperately in need of some advice here. Thanks. Glue ear is a painless condition in which thick, sticky fluid collects behind the eardrum. The fluid blocks the middle part of the ear and can cause impaired hearing. It usually affects children and is also known as: Chronic otitis media with effusion (OME) Secretory otitis media Middle-ear effusion The thick fluid prevents normal movement of the small bones in the middle ear that are necessary for hearing. Glue ear is common in children because of the nature of their eustachian tubes, the tubes that connect the ears with the back of the throat. Different kinds of fluid may be present behind the eardrum, ranging from a yellow liquid to a thick, white material that resembles glue (hence the name, glue ear). Left untreated, glue ear can: Cause temporary hearing loss Contribute to delayed speech development in young children Affect a child's behavior and educational progress In rare cases, cause permanent damage to hearing I have had it for MONTHS!
In reflexology is there a specific area on the hands or feet that I could massage or manipulate for insomnia? I don't know much about reflexology, just that certain places on the hands and feet correspond to various other parts of the body and its organs. But does reflexology offer anything in the way of help for better sleep? I've had chronic insomnia following a traumatic event a decade ago. It's hard for me to fall asleep, stay asleep, or sleep deeply, and my health has really suffered as a result. No pharmaceuticals (I've tried them ALL), herbal remedies or "sleep hygiene" tips I've been given over the years has done a bit of good. I'm planning to try hynpnotherapy, EMDR and Alpha-Stim soon with a new, very experienced therapist, but was also curious about reflexology.
Where is the reflexology point for nausea? I am having horrible morning sickness, and I was curious where the reflexology point for nausea is in the foot or hand, preferably both. Thanks.
Is there a difference in effectiveness of reflexology in the hands and in the feet? I'm developing an interest in it. If you know any good websites please include them.
Reflexology pressure points for wrist/hand pain? Hi. I am trying to find information (a chart or detailed explanation) of the pressure points used when trying to alleviate wrist pain from repetitive motion. It's not carpal tunnel, but there is a great deal of pain after work. I got a spray from a holistic healer with eucalyptus, rosemary, lavender, clary sage, and camphor that is to be used in conjunction with reflexology, but the link she gave me to the web site detailing the pressure point location is "dead". Does anyone know where I can find a chart with reflexology locations? Actually, the healer I know is sort of "in the family", so she gave me the spray for free, so even if it doesn't work, I'm not out any money either way. As for going to a doctor for carpal tunnel, it would never happen. Here, they just cut you open and give you a temporary surgical fix. I know a woman here that has had it done six times, is no longer working there, but still has to go through therapy along with surgery every year or two. To me, that's a total waste of money, time, and a lot of pain to deal with. The reason I know it's not carpal tunnel is because I've had it ever since I broke my arm in junior high. In high school, I was sent to doctor after doctor, and they all said what I have is similar to arthritis and it will get worse in the cold...which it does. C.T. is a steady pain that doesn't change with weather changes, according to them. Thanks!
Does reflexology really work? I was in Barnes and Noble the other day and saw a reflexology kit on sale. It had the socks and gloves with the graph on them. I'd love to try it if the benefits were real. If it really does work, what is the technique? How long do you massage the area on your foot/hand that you are targeting? Any information on this subject would be useful. Thanks!
Where online can you find a map of body reflexology? Ive been searching around trying to find a full body map of reflexology. Does anyone know where I can find one? (NOT to buy online) If not a full body, then specifically the hands, face and back.
Is it ok to have Reflexology done while Pregnant? I have a prenatal massage appointment tomorrow, and I also scheduled a reflexology treatment along with it. At first I just thought it was just extra time on my hands and feet (because they are so swollen!) and I really wanted to increase circulation and just have them massaged more, but after doing a little research there seems to be more than that going on then just relaxation. Does anyone know for sure if it's safe to have reflexology while pregnant? I'm 34 weeks along. Thanks!
Have you ever had a reflexology treatment and what do you think of reflexology? I met a reflexologist many years ago and received treatments, and also became a massage therapist and gave treatments to others and continue to give treatments to myself (both hands and feet). I have had reflexologists tell me that they had people with medical conditions which were considered hopeless by doctors, and then the reflexology treatments healed them. Have you ever received a reflexology treatment? If so, what do you think of it? Do you believe it works?
Reflexology???affecting parts of the body? I've heard that reflexology (hand) can give a man/woman an orgasm or at least make them very aroused...is this true?? I looked at several different reflexology maps of the hand and there is a small region on the wrist that corresponds to the ovaries and testicles. for example: http://www.healthgoods.com/images/Medirub_Hand_Reflexlology.gif http://www.foot-reflexologist.com/images/handchart.jpeg any ideas on this theory?? Can massaging these areas possibly stimulate a man/woman?
Can reflexology techniques help fibromyalgia pain? My boyfriend has fibro and gets really bad pains in his arms, lungs, and heart area. I know some reflexology to soothe those areas in the hands and feet. Would I be able to help him this way? If not, does anyone have any techniques that WOULD work? I hate to see him in pain, I just want to make him feel better :(
Does anyone else hand, arm, or foot massage themselves? I have a borderline obsession with rubbing my hands and wrists, particularly the sides of the wrists going onto the thumb and the back of my hands. I then usually massage all my arms at night massage my feet with the opposing heel. Does anyone else do this? Is it possibly a subconscious self-reflexology?
Does reflexology really work? Where can I get a chart? The hand chart and also the foot chart. This is amazing if it can work.
Will electric Reflexology machine increase metabolic rate? I have just injured my left hand while lifting heavy weights. I am using electric reflexology machine to aid recovery. Will using electric Reflexology machine increase my metabolic rate?
He claims to be straight, but he massages me and i massage his hand?!? OK. Today, my best friend claims to be straight. I am gay, and he knows it. Lately he always want me to massage his hand ( I practice reflexology) now sometimes i just get tired so i stop and just hold his hand, making a little "hint hint" for him and he just held my hand. soon after, he let go of my hand and he laid on the couch and he patted the cushion for me to lay next to him. He soon after started to massage my shoulders and neck and back(lower and upper) when he finished I laid down my head on his shoulder and he put his arm around me and I reflexology his hand. His sister called and he had to leave, he got up and I noticed he had a "hard-one" Now he claims to be straight, but none of m straight friends act like he does. I do want to take it to the next level. Is he gay, if so, how should I take it to the next level?

does anyone know anything about reflexology.? I have developed a series of small bumps on the sole of my right foot. could this be related to a problem in another part of my body. The bumps are not warts or verrucas, but are small (about 1mm) in size filled with clear liquid. Sounds gross i know, but i'm wondering if reflexology could help determine what may be causing it. one is right in the centre of my foot, the other is towards the upper right hand side of my heel, towards the bridge. thanks

I HAVE A CLEAR RASH, KINDA BUMPY, AND ITCHES LIKE CRAZY, IT'S ONLY ON MY THUMB, WELL NOT MY THUMB, THE PART ALONG MY HAND LINING DOWN MY THUMB TO MY WRIST, THE REFLEXOLOGY CHART SAID IT WAS MY ADRENAL GLAND AND ALONG THAT AREA........ Reflexology Charts - downloadable? I am after a couple of reflexology charts that I can download for a project I am doing. I need one for hands and one for feet. You know the ones that have them hands/feet shown with sections and then a little description pointing to each section. Can anyone help me please? Reflexology and Mind over Body? So last night my feet were killing me. I was on them about 16 hours, and when I came home the, arches in the bottom of my feet were throbbing. So I thought about the Reflexology charts that name each point on the hands and feet and used it to relieve the pain not only in my feet, but also my neck, back and ribs/chest. The problem is, I have no training whatsoever and I can't tell if the charts relieved my pain or if my faith in the charts relieved my pain. What do you think? Is this a simple case of mind over body?
Reflexology/ spleen question! please help!? I'm looking into reflexology and i was massaging the spleen (and liver as well) section of my wifes hands and feet, both parts where hurting pretty severely. Banana headache - crop chemical? Within the year, my whole family has started getting headaches from bananas. I always eat two fruits at lunch and bananas have been a good source for many years. However, it has been relatively recent that I get a headache within one hour of consuming a banana +90% of the time. Typically, I get a headache only twice a year and can get rid of it via hand reflexology. With a banana headache, I need to take an aspirin! I'm certain it's not the potassium content and believe chemicals are the culprit. Has the industry started spraying something new on the banana crop? It took me many weeks to discover the banana pattern. Once I mentioned these suspicions to my family, they noticed the same situation for them as well. We switched brands a couple of times but couldn't determine a consistent source. We're no longer buying or consuming bananas for right now. Is anyone else running into this? Are there "safe" banana brands (from what country) to eat? Should I contact the major suppliers and/or the FDA? Prior to posting the question, I read articles claiming peel removal to avoid a headache plus bananas as a trigger for migraines as well as a cure. None of this seems to apply since our entire family has become banana-sensitive within a single year. Also, it's not all bananas but most.
Will my holistic job give me arthritis? I am 17 and studying Complimentary Therapies at Bath College. I am studying reflexology, swedish massage and aromatherapy. I know it's highly likely to get the condition doing this kind of work. But, is it as high a risk if you do mostly therapies like reflexology as it's less stress on the hands? Thanks xx Before you ask, my question accidentally got put in the wrong catagory.
Adrenal gland treatment through massage? Is anyone aware of massage techniques and pressure points that through hand foot reflexology AND body massage techniques that can help to stimulate an irregular Adrenal gland problem. I feel it is a simple enough idea to stimulate the specific pressure points that the adrenal and other interactive glands are connected to through massage. I cant see where this idea could do anything except help. It will certainly relax the subject physically and mentally at the very least. Any help and advice would be appreciated, I would also use a chakra massage for alignment, fragrances and meditative music as well. I am looking forward to doing a great treatment on a friend and wold like to have some advice.
How does this work? "Massage the area of your hand between the base of your thumb and your wrist. This is a reflexology point that stimulates proper assimilation of food."
girls a question about attraction? I have been doing some research on girls and what makes them attracted. I read that if you're already friends with a girl and you're seeing eachother but not really going out and have never held hands that it is a good idea to gain knowledge on palmistry in order to read the lines on her hands(if you are really great friends) in order to touch her hands. And then i read to learn about hand maswsages and reflexology. Women:do you like these kinds of things when a great guy friend who you like does it. Men:have you had any success with this. Open to all feedback. thank-you this is advice from a dating expert:david deangelo

A London council spends 90,000 on foot massages for disruptive pupils. Will it work? http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20081103/tuk-schools-to-give-unruly-kids-foot-mas-dba1618.html Instead of handing out ASBOs and excluding violent and aggressive pupils, should we be giving them aromatherapy and reflexology? Maybe we should have a little "whale sounds" music on in class?

Was this guy creepy or am I making it up? I was at this little party thing at my college and we were watching a short slide with film and this adult guy kept talking to me even though I barely paid attention to him but he didn't notice or care. He kept talking to me - for FOUR hours. See, after the first hour where I acted pretty much like a wall, I afterwards started talking to him. By the time every one left and some girls practicing dance came in, he kept touching my hands A LOT (he wouldn't let go... every time I moved my hands away he grabbed them again) and said he was a massage therapist who likes to make women feel warm and comfortable. It really creeped me out. He kept touching me on my body talking about reflexology and about how well I may feel comfortable with guys to the point of kissing them. I told him I've never kissed anyone so I could change the subject but then he touched me on my lips with his fingers and said I'd probably be awkward at kissing - that I'm not in my "comfort zone. Then he tried to kiss me. Every time I said I needed to go somewhere (and I really did - I ended up missing it) he kept saying I was making up excuses. Eventually he asked me to go with him to a restaurant. He's a grown-up in his 30s or 40s and married. I'm 19 and he wanted to drive me somewhere. Of course I said no. It took me FOREVER to make him leave. I'm so creeped out. What do I do? I'm going to see him again at the next party (they have one every week and I always go). *Shudders* Thanks for the advice. My mother (I told her over the phone) tells me he's manipulating me and I'm being too nice in not leaving (though I tried). She tells me not to stop going to the parties because then he'd be controlling me in making me scared of seeing him there again. I think he's there because he's a dance teacher. (He kept trying to dance with me... and he said he'd give me a free massage, but I said no thanks.) I do have a friend in charge of the whole party - I guess I should stick by her from now on. But I just feel so creeped out by the whole thing. My mother says that all girls go through this sort of thing and we just have to learn how to deal with these situations. Great advice mama... *rolls eyes* I bet she's never had a guy this creepy before... I mean, he was touching and rubbing my hands and arms and stuff... Ew...
Dental trade for massage? I am a massage therapist in Dallas TX and I am in desperate need of dental work. Like most others in my profession I do not have insurance and I never know what my income will be. Are there any dentist in the area that would not mind getting massage therapy in trade for dental work? I have 7 or so years of experience as a registered massage therapist on top of a lifetime of study (my Dad was a therapist as well). I am experienced in swedish, deep tissue, myo-fascial release, soft tissue techniques and reflexology (for feet and hands). I do have clients that would be happy to give their opinion and a reference as well. If you are a dentist or know a destist that would work with me please let me know, I will be eternally greatful!
dehydration? Yesterday I got a reflexology massage on my hands from one of the girls at my school (I go to cosmetology school and she's an esthetician) and apparently it makes you pee a lot that afternoon-night after you get it, to cleanse and detox your system? I guess. Well she forgot to tell me that you're supposed to drink lots of water after you get this massage and I forgot about that and didn't remember until like 10:30 last night. I seriously got to peeing almost every 15 minutes! I had about 4 glasses of water last night and this morning I was feeling crappy and weak. Is this from dehydration? I've had about 4 glasses today (got out of bed at 1:30 or so but had some at 6:30 and sometime around 10) *currently drinking water*
Levitation as a party trick - explaination how this works? I read this on of all things a genealogy (grrr) forum. "When I was at Ragdale Hall last weekend we had a talk from a brilliant speaker , Adrian Hunt , who does Reflexology and other treatments. He spoke about Auras and showed us how to lift a lady of 8st using only our fingers , there were 4 of us -2 lifting under her arm and 2 at her knees , we lifted her several feet off the chair with no effort --it was magic !!!..... We all rubbed our hands together to make a heat, then put them on top of the lady`s head one on top of each other not touching . Then someone counted to 20 , we clasped our hands with 2 index fingers in front and put them under the lady`s knees and armpits then just lifted up . The heat creates a bubble which helps her to rise " Any ideas how best to say "bollocks" in a polite way? Guessing it works because the load is shared? Quite a few other people claimed to have done something similar at school too. Yes Yahoo, I believe that is how it is done, now I am looking for a way to say that this is not 'magic' but simply a trick that does not contradict the laws of science. I don't want to say 'bollocks' since it will probably cause the poor old duck to fall of her chair. And more importantly this is on a site you have to pay to subscribe to and I don't want to waste my membership fee by being banned. Skeptics may be interested in seeing the 'treatment' packages this place offers. http://www.ragdalehall.co.uk/treatment-category.cfm/category_ID/2/title=holistic-therapies
