Reflexology and Mind over Body? So last night my feet were killing me. I was on them about 16 hours, and when I came home the, arches in the bottom of my feet were throbbing. So I thought about the Reflexology charts that name each point on the hands and feet and used it to relieve the pain not only in my feet, but also my neck, back and ribs/chest. The problem is, I have no training whatsoever and I can't tell if the charts relieved my pain or if my faith in the charts relieved my pain. What do you think? Is this a simple case of mind over body?
In reflexology is there a specific area on the hands or feet that I could massage or manipulate for insomnia? I don't know much about reflexology, just that certain places on the hands and feet correspond to various other parts of the body and its organs. But does reflexology offer anything in the way of help for better sleep? I've had chronic insomnia following a traumatic event a decade ago. It's hard for me to fall asleep, stay asleep, or sleep deeply, and my health has really suffered as a result. No pharmaceuticals (I've tried them ALL), herbal remedies or "sleep hygiene" tips I've been given over the years has done a bit of good. I'm planning to try hynpnotherapy, EMDR and Alpha-Stim soon with a new, very experienced therapist, but was also curious about reflexology.
Reflexology???affecting parts of the body? I've heard that reflexology (hand) can give a man/woman an orgasm or at least make them very aroused...is this true?? I looked at several different reflexology maps of the hand and there is a small region on the wrist that corresponds to the ovaries and testicles. for example: http://www.healthgoods.com/images/Medirub_Hand_Reflexlology.gif http://www.foot-reflexologist.com/images/handchart.jpeg any ideas on this theory?? Can massaging these areas possibly stimulate a man/woman?
Does anyone know about reflexology? I've read about it and looked at charts, but does it work? I am also interested in anything along the lines of yoga, reflexology, Zen, psychology, and philosophy. Do you know of any other practices that I have not listed that seem like they would maybe fit my interests? Stuff like Wiccan or scientology or yoga? (I already know about these things. What I am asking is, do you know of anything else along the lines of the things that I have listed? Spiritual practices, body and mind stuff?) Please do NOT say Christianity. Been there, done that. No more of that.
full body massage or indian head massage? When i finish my Reflexology at college i am thinking of doing another course but i am undecided between full body massage or indian head massage any suggestions as to which you think are more beneficial/relaxing?
does anyone know anything about reflexology.? I have developed a series of small bumps on the sole of my right foot. could this be related to a problem in another part of my body. The bumps are not warts or verrucas, but are small (about 1mm) in size filled with clear liquid. Sounds gross i know, but i'm wondering if reflexology could help determine what may be causing it. one is right in the centre of my foot, the other is towards the upper right hand side of my heel, towards the bridge. thanks

detoxification via reflexology methods:? I was wondering if you all could direct me to a site that lists the reflexology regions of the foot, as well as what effects detoxification has on those particular regions for different areas of the body.
Reflexology or massage question? My friend was telling me that since I give my girlfriend foot massages a lot of the times that I should look into reflexology because their are sensual parts on all womens feet as well as mens feet that have a sensual effect on all parts of the body, such as relaxation, excitement, even sexual arousal. Is their truth to this and if so how do I know exactly what I'm doing during a foot massage? My friend said some women even get off sexually on foot massages, which I find hard to believe, but OK. Lol. Anyways is any of that true and if so where can I find out more about that?

prenatal massage and reflexology? well i just got a prenatal massage and to say the least it was AMAZING...oh my gosh it felt so good and my whole body is feeling great. since i've been contracting every hour or so and my scheduled c-section is monday (and they're making me wait till then because i'm not dialated at all) she did this reflexology thing where she pressed on my ankle...its supposed to help you contract more regularly and help you get into a good labor pattern...i was wondering if anyone has had this done and if it actually got the contractions more close together..my dr said if they got every 5 mins consistantly she'd do the c-section early. i feel kinda silly not wanting to wait 3 more days but its miserabe with these contractions...by the time i actually get to sleep i get a contraction...then i have to pee...then i go to sleep and get another one..its just getting annoying and tiring.
Health concern containging sharp pain in chest and someone with knowledge of Reflexology and Iridology..? Ok first off I want to tell you that I am going to school for Massage Therapy so I been learning a lot about the body.. I did some research on myself because I was a premature baby by 4 months. I already suffer from a little bit of a speech problem because of it. It came out that if a baby is very early, later as a adult they might have heart problems or lung problems... Off and on I have this sharp pain in my chest. By the heart area. Its either when I get up from laying on the floor or when I work out. I feel like I am not getting enough oxygen. Sometimes when I am just relaxed I have to take a deep breath for no reason. What gets my concern a little is that I have no been to the doctor in 3 years because I have no health insurance. In one of my classes we learned Reflexology. The points in my feet showed some things with my stomach and my lungs. In class the other day we did Iridology which is on the eyes and a black stop came up on my lung area on that. Should I be concern
do you believe in reflexology? i noticed that ever since i started massaging certain spots on my feet, i feel an improvement in the corresponding body part.
I have pcos and am wondering if my body is actually starting to work again? Hi, I have PCOS and for the last 6 years my periods have been either irregular or non existent but towards the end of last year i purchases a book on PCOS and it gave me allot of information on things that could help me to get pregnant. So..... I started taking Star flower oil capsules and i started to have reflexology and since then i have been getting regular periods and they always fall within the same week every month. However they are not heavy like normal periods and last anything up to 2 week's before they end. Can anyone tell me if they have heard of this before or even experienced it themselves. Plus in all the time i have been having reflexology the lady that does it for told me last week that the area on my feet that relates to my uterous and ovaries has always been slightly hard and not as it should be but last week she said they actually feel near enough exactly how they should feel and this is because she is opening up the channels in my body to allow the hormones to travel round my body as they should do. Does this mean that my body is actually starting to work properly again or am i just hoping?
Please recommend a nice spa for men, in KL.? Hubby is accompanying me to KL for a work assignment, and he has a whole day free. I would like to treat him to a nice, relaxing time at a spa. The works - massage, body treatments, reflexology. Any recommendations? We will be in the city. Thank you.
Foot reflexology and detox? Do you think that different parts of the foot are connected to every other parts of our body and the foot detox patches dispel wastes products from the body? Has anyone tried it? Just wondering if it's worth trying...
Do all women melt when they have their feet massaged? My girlfriend bought these white socks with a map thing on the bottom so it shows you what parts of the feet to massage to help other body parts. Reflexology. They come in pairs. She joked and said they should have three socks. Two for the womans feet and one for the mans mouth so he cant complain! lol cheeky cow!

Is reflexology real? My friend told me its supposed to be certain nerves on the soles of our feet connect to certain organs in our body, and if rubbed its supposed to be healthy. Seems to me like a way for people who have a foot fetish to get their fingers on some poor dude's bare feet and drive him into seizures. One of my girlfriends is into it, and I can't take somebody touching my feet, so she got two of my friends to hold me in a chair while she did it. I think it lasted about 15 minutes, but to me it was two hours. I was laughing so hard the guys finally saw the stain on the front of my pants and let me up. Whats up with it? The organ connected to my feet is my brain, and it makes me laugh until I throw up or wet myself.
Was this guy creepy or am I making it up? I was at this little party thing at my college and we were watching a short slide with film and this adult guy kept talking to me even though I barely paid attention to him but he didn't notice or care. He kept talking to me - for FOUR hours. See, after the first hour where I acted pretty much like a wall, I afterwards started talking to him. By the time every one left and some girls practicing dance came in, he kept touching my hands A LOT (he wouldn't let go... every time I moved my hands away he grabbed them again) and said he was a massage therapist who likes to make women feel warm and comfortable. It really creeped me out. He kept touching me on my body talking about reflexology and about how well I may feel comfortable with guys to the point of kissing them. I told him I've never kissed anyone so I could change the subject but then he touched me on my lips with his fingers and said I'd probably be awkward at kissing - that I'm not in my "comfort zone. Then he tried to kiss me. Every time I said I needed to go somewhere (and I really did - I ended up missing it) he kept saying I was making up excuses. Eventually he asked me to go with him to a restaurant. He's a grown-up in his 30s or 40s and married. I'm 19 and he wanted to drive me somewhere. Of course I said no. It took me FOREVER to make him leave. I'm so creeped out. What do I do? I'm going to see him again at the next party (they have one every week and I always go). *Shudders* Thanks for the advice. My mother (I told her over the phone) tells me he's manipulating me and I'm being too nice in not leaving (though I tried). She tells me not to stop going to the parties because then he'd be controlling me in making me scared of seeing him there again. I think he's there because he's a dance teacher. (He kept trying to dance with me... and he said he'd give me a free massage, but I said no thanks.) I do have a friend in charge of the whole party - I guess I should stick by her from now on. But I just feel so creeped out by the whole thing. My mother says that all girls go through this sort of thing and we just have to learn how to deal with these situations. Great advice mama... *rolls eyes* I bet she's never had a guy this creepy before... I mean, he was touching and rubbing my hands and arms and stuff... Ew...

I also offer training, and want to work with local business to help reduce stress and increase their staff morale. I just don't know what else to do. I am fighting with practicality, waiting for the law of abundance to kick in.
Alternative Healing regulated in Texas, WHY? Is the local healer (Cuenendero) now in danger being illegal? A few years ago a house bill was entered into the Texas State Legislature to regulate Reiki. The house bill was submitted by a person in Houston that was going to set up a monolopy for herself doing Reiki. We defeated that house bill with protest and demonstrations. This time it is the Massage Therapy Board that is trying to regulate all the other types of Health Benefits that may include touch in any way. Reiki, Reflexology, Acupressure, Body Talk, Emotional Freedom Technique, Iridiolgoy, The problem this time is no one is that excited or willing to stop this problem. They all say.. yeah it shouldn't happen, but where is the action for changing the mind of the Governor Rick Perry and having him Veto the Bill. The House Bill 2644 for Massage Therapy, was presented in The House of Representatives, Passed to the Senate.. THEN someone slipped in an amendment to include all the limitations for healing touch and it was approved and sent to the Gov. Office for signature.
Do I have ANY options to continue my growth at 19.5 years old? I am a 5'5" male who hit puberty late. I have several questions of my own and would like a knowledgable opinions of things I have found on the internet. 1) Is there a way to test if my growth plates have fully closed? 2) I have read that if growth plates are closed there are parts of the body (upper body) that can continue to grow. Is this true? 3) At 19.5 Is it possible for growth hormone to have ANY positive effect on my height? 4) I have read that reflexology can positively affect height. is this true? 5) Are there any clinical trials of drugs that might increase my height? 6) Who are the leading experts in human gowth? 7) Are there any reputable nontraditional methods worthy of consideration? 8) If you were in my position are there any other questions you would ask or approaches you would consider? If you believe that other posts maybe misleading or untrustworthy, please comment. Thank you for you time and consideration, -Oakwoodhd

Adrenal gland treatment through massage? Is anyone aware of massage techniques and pressure points that through hand foot reflexology AND body massage techniques that can help to stimulate an irregular Adrenal gland problem. I feel it is a simple enough idea to stimulate the specific pressure points that the adrenal and other interactive glands are connected to through massage. I cant see where this idea could do anything except help. It will certainly relax the subject physically and mentally at the very least. Any help and advice would be appreciated, I would also use a chakra massage for alignment, fragrances and meditative music as well. I am looking forward to doing a great treatment on a friend and wold like to have some advice.

To all reflexologists: a question of growth? I am trained in reflexology and have practised for about 5 years now. It is a fantastic treatment and I love to do extra reading on it. I have over the years learnt techniques to assist with fertility problems and allowing for shortened childbirth etc. Today I read that by stimulating the pituatary point, that increased levels of human growth hormone may be released into the body, thus allowing for an increase in height. While this does sound as realistic to me as other reflexology theories, I`m interested to hear some opinions from other healthcare proffessionals.
Hypnosis !!!!? I'm spending a day at a health spa. I've booked in for a full body massage, reflexology and would like to try hypnosis but not sure what for out of the following, stress headaches or fear of needles, ie. blood tests, dentist etc.
